Headlands Center for the Arts

Scenic Sketches Splendor is a guided hike focused on developing drawings while immersed in the natural beauty of the Marin Headlands. We will draw inspiration from the flora, fauna, geologic formations, and ocean views to create landscape drawings in pen. Open to every level of skill. Joshua Moreno will demonstrate a variety of drawing techniques tailored to capturing the landscape. Through group discussions and hands-on activities, we’ll collaboratively brainstorm ideas and approaches for capturing the natural beauty surrounding us.

No prior experience necessary.

What to expect:

• This mid-level exertion hike, distance expectancy is no more than 1-3 miles, and will take approximately three hours. 
• The workshop will be visiting two different locations on both weekends. Feel free to register for one, or both!
• There is an optional $10 materials fee, or feel free to bring your own drawing tools! 
• Dress for unpredictable weather; warm layers and checking the weather in advance are recommended.
• The hike will start and end at Headlands Center for the Arts (944 Simmonds Road, Sausalito, CA 94965). Participants will gather in The Commons (area between Building 944 and Building 945) at 11:00AM before beginning the hike, and will return at approximately 1PM.
