Headlands Center for the Arts

At Headlands I plan to push the limits of perception within the realm of figurative painting. I’m excited to engage with a community of dedicated artists, and I hope that the community, natural landscape, and rich history of Headlands will influence my work in a way that makes it feel deeper and more personal to myself and others.

Artist Statement

My paintings are meditations on the subjectivity and limits of our perception. Though they encompass different styles, each portrays liminal spaces that simultaneously disclose and conceal worlds that are both familiar and bizarre. Between the macrocosmic abstractions and the density of their makeup, my paintings ruminate on what we can know within the limits of our perception, as well as speculate on what may lie beyond.
