4 x 12 – Artists in Residence and Affiliate writers, two fiction writers and two non-fiction writers each give 12-minute readings.

  • Laurel Braitman (AFF ’13) writes about animal insanity, outlaws and history of science. Her book, Animal Madness, is forthcoming with Simon and Schuster in June 2014.
  • Victoria Gannon (AFF ’13) is an Oakland-based writer interested in the overlaps between autobiography and aesthetics. Topics of interest include art, cultural geography, and memories of her suburban California childhood.
  • Jennie Lin (AIR ’13) writes fiction about wilderness, survival, immigrants, and women with piddling superpowers. At Headlands, she is working on a novel about an immigration lawyer and a refugee navigating a future world. She is also finishing a collection of linked short stories in which two women cope with extreme (literal and not-so-literal) wilderness.
  • William Rockwell (AFF ’13) is a San Francisco-based writer. His current work explores the function of memory and the way in which it is influenced by objects, location, and natural phenomenon.
