Project Space: Parsons & Charlesworth
Parsons & Charlesworth develop fictional entities: organizations such as The MeMo Organization and Catalog for the Post-Human, or the individual protagonists articulated in New Survivalism. Under the umbrella of these entities, Parsons & Charlesworth create and design sculpture, objects, writing, photography, and digital media to tell stories confronting key social and ecological challenges such as climate change, the future of work, and the ethics of technology. They are currently in the research and development phase of Multispecies Inc., an organization that makes tools for “multispecies living” as part of a wider mission to ensure the flourishing of all non-human species.
The Project Space studio will serve as a Headlands outpost of Multispecies Inc. as the organization continues their embedded research on species interactions within the Headlands biome and experimental living environments related to the counterculture movement. Housing work in progress, research materials, drawings, images, and notes, the outpost will offer an ever-evolving body of knowledge for visitors to explore.
Project Space is on the third floor of Building 944 and is currently accessible only by stairs.
