Working in Project Space west, Artist in Residence Yaloo will produce and install a series of virtual sculptures, or 3-D video installations, created at Headlands. The artist will make a new sculpture each day she is in residence. Based in Chicago and Seoul, Yaloo uses video projection mapping and virtual reality to create technically rich, visually extravagant works that mine the poetic possibilities of digital media. Her works explore the image of wealth and longevity, as well as the spiritual relationship between consumerism and regionalism. At Headlands, she is continuing her longtime investigation of transcultural symbols while she experiments with new possibilities for video installation.
