Artist Statement
I am a sound and light artist working at the intersection of art, science, and technology. My artistic production has always been led by a spirit of innovation fueled by an interest in new media, merging research and artistic practices to explore concepts such audio visuality, machine self-expression, AI, cyborg art, and human obsolescence.
Currently, I create audiovisual performances/installations while working with electroacoustic composition, improvisation, and interdisciplinary collaborations with dance, theatre, and moving images. My pieces have been presented in festivals around the world in Japan, the US, Canada, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Iran, Taiwan, South Korea, Russia and many countries in Europe.
While at Headlands
As humans our senses are limited in the perception of nature. One such limitation is our audible range, which is incapable of detecting frequencies below 20Hz and above 16kHz. Considering the numerous indicators that these frequencies can can still influence human beings, I will dedicate my residency at Headlands to studying them, with the goal of creating a new installation as a result of the research.
