Artist Statement

My choices as a composer and sound artist describe relationships between acoustic phenomena and biological resonance. Many of my projects involve instrumental improvisation, site-specific and site-reactive exploration, multichannel speaker configurations, and radical electroacoustic preparation of orchestral instruments. My four-dimensional approach to composition asks the listener to reconsider the body’s relationship to sound and initiates new access points to architecture.

During my time at Headlands, I will be developing a body of work for wind instruments, tape, and electronics.
