Artist Statement

I’m interested in how we perceive space and how our self image reflects the way we look at our surroundings. I explore this by making landscapes and objects from photo prints that are cut out with a scalpel.

While at Headlands

For many years I have been working with the California landscape, and how the image of that landscape has spilled over to how I perceive my own environment in Sweden. I fell in love with skateboarding as a kid and devoured any images and videos from skateboard media, changing the way I look at the world. I will now be able to visit some of the places depicted in that media, as well as spaces in the landscape that I have been working with, to see them firsthand.
