New Games Re:Play
Artist Robby Herbst’s (AIR ’15) New Games Re:Play is a full-day dedicated to the New Games Foundation and festivals of the 1970’s, whose first iteration took place in the Marin Headlands’ Gerbode Valley in 1973. These festivals of physical games were meant to build human potential and communal trust. New Games Re:Play begins with a conversation and screening led by Herbst about the origins and legacy of the New Games with some of its creators, supporters, and first participants, including John O’Connell and William Michaelis. After a break for lunch in the Mess Hall, several of the original cooperative, collaborative, and fun New Games will be played on the Fort Barry Parade Ground. New Games: RePlay is a part of Herbst’s New New Games project, and is presented in collaboration with Southern Exposure.
