Maw Shein Win is a writer who lives in Berkeley, California. Her work has been published in many print and online journals such as Watchword, Instant City, Shampoo, and Hyphen. She is co-founder of Comet, a literary, arts, and culture magazine, and is a member of Synecdoche, a newly-formed collective of Bay Area writers and visual artists. A recipient of the Creativity Workshops 2007 Women Writers Fellowship in Italy, she also has a residency at Can Serrat International Art Center in Spain for 2008. Win was an AIR at Headlands in 2006, and returns as an Affiliate Artist for the 2010-2011 season.
Books and Awards: She received the Public Corporation for the Arts Artist's Grant to fund a book of poetry, Tales of a Lonely Meat Eater.
