James Sansing's work addresses the point at which nature infiltrates the relics left behind by human beings to reveal the narrative of human existence. In his past work he created sculptures that protruded from the wall, breaking into the viewers' space. In his sculptures he incorporates metal machine parts and cement foundations to reference the prevalent view that nature resides in a world man has constructed, and to communicate his idea that the world is heavy yet delicate. James received his BFA and his MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute.
