In her work, Emily McLeod explores the ways in which humans construct natural and domestic spaces. She works primarily at night because the light available at night reduces spaces to their elements and leaves them empty of people. In her recent work she photographed single-family homes in the San Francisco Bay area, focusing on post-war housing built by developers such as Henry Doelger and Joseph Eichler.
